University Ready to Kick Off Leadership Week Activities

James RobilottaFerris State University students can prepare themselves for leadership roles now and in the future by participating in Leadership Week 2013 presentations that kick off Monday, Sept. 16.

Leadership Week is a new effort by the university’s Center for Leadership, Activities and Career Services to develop emerging leaders, mentor seasoned leaders and offer opportunities to learn for all students.

“Leadership Week is a way for students to develop new leadership skills,” said Jessica Trindle, a special event professional trainee for the CLACS office, noting participation will benefit students involved in Registered Student Organizations as well as in the classroom. Trindle is a senior from Los Angeles majoring in Music Industry Management.

The week will be highlighted by “More Action Less Title: Encouraging Student Leaders to Do More,” a Five Star presentation by James Robilotta on Tuesday, Sept. 17 in Williams Auditorium. Robilotta is a professional speaker with CAMPUSPEAK whose presentations “are thought-provoking, filled with self-awareness and laced with comedy,” according to the CAMPUSPEAK website http://www.campuspeak.com/speakers/robilotta.

Another featured presenter will be motivational speaker Eric Thomas on Wednesday, Sept. 18 to discuss “Transitions to Success.” Thomas, an educator, author, activist and minister, delivers high-energy messages that encourage students to live up to their potential.
