Welding Students Donate to Our Brother's Keeper Shelter of Big Rapids

Ferris State UniversityFerris State University Welding Technology and Welding Engineering Technology students, representing the FSU American Welding Society Student Chapter, donated more than 240 food items and a check worth $250 to Robert Beaverson of Our Brother’s Keeper, a shelter for the homeless in Big Rapids.

The AWS chapter has been active on Ferris’ Big Rapids campus since 1972. Jeffrey Carney, an alumnus and an associate professor in the College of Engineering Technology, is the chapter’s academic advisor.

Our Brother’s Keeper is located at 405 S. Third Avenue in Big Rapids. The shelter offers sleeping rooms, a dining area and other services for the homeless.
