Graduating Ferris Students Encouraged to Attend Spring Grad Fair

Grad FairFerris State University students can take the next step toward becoming alumni by attending the Spring Graduation Fair on Tuesday, March 26 in the Rankin Student Center Dome Room.

The fair, sponsored by the university’s Commencement and Alumni offices, and the James L. Lundberg Bookstore, is billed as “one-stop shopping” for graduating students. It will be held from noon to 5 p.m.

“Students should attend the event, because many of the opportunities offered will be available that day only,” said Amy Packard, Alumni Relations assistant.

Graduating students will be able to:

  • Pick up commencement ceremony tickets
  • Purchase cap and gown
  • Order graduation announcements
  • Complete a loan exit interview
  • Check out graduate degree programs offered at Ferris
  • Have resume critiqued
  • Order a class ring
  • Have a free digital photo taken
  • Order business cards
  • Create a video message for family and friends that will be included in a video shown before the commencement ceremony.

“We generally have about 300 students come through the fair during the fall,” Packard said. “We are expecting around 800 students for the spring.”

The event also includes refreshments and door prizes.

Students unable to attend the fair can pick up their tickets from their college’s commencement coordinator starting Wednesday, March 27. Students will receive six tickets; children 2 and younger do not need a ticket.

In addition, caps and gowns will be available for purchase at the bookstore between Wednesday, March 27 and Friday, May 3.

Commencement ceremonies will take place on Friday, May 10 for the College of Health Professions (3:30 p.m.) and the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Pharmacy and Doctorate of Community College Leadership (7 p.m.). Ceremonies are Saturday, May 11 for the College of Business (9 a.m.), the Michigan College of Optometry and College of Education and Human Services (12:30 p.m.), and the College of Engineering Technology (4 p.m.). Ceremonies will be held in the Convocation Center at the Ewigleben Sports Complex.
