Ferris Authors Recognized for Creative, Scholarly Works

Ferris State University faculty, staff, students and emeriti have been recognized for reaching audiences beyond the university community through scholarly or creative works.

Authors who published, presented, exhibited or released scholarly or creative work in 2012 were honored during a March 21 Author Recognition Event at the Ferris Library for Information, Technology and Education. The event was organized by FLITE, the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning, Ferris’ Kendall College of Art and Design, the Office of Academic Research and Academic Affairs.

“Publishing a book, an article, or a creative work is no small feat. It takes a great deal of dedication, persistence, determination, and humble acceptance of criticism to improve your piece beyond your initial efforts,” said Fritz Erickson, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs. “We value our authors who have persisted through the arduous process and are now able to share their written and creative works to enhance our academic community and meaningfully contribute to their respective fields.”
