Educators and others interested in learning about Michigan’s natural resources are invited to attend the Academy of Natural Resources Sunday, July 14 through Friday, July 19 at the Ralph A. MacMullen Conference Center on Higgins Lake in Roscommon.
The ANR, offered by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, also is an opportunity to earn college education credits through Ferris State University’s School of Education.
"This is an opportunity to become enlightened and inspired," said Cindy Fitzwilliams-Heck, a biology instructor and the ANR course instructor for Ferris. "The workshops are taught by professionals who offer fun, hands-on approaches for learning about our state’s natural resources, conservation practices and outdoor recreation."
The academy will benefit educators who want to blend natural resources themes into their classrooms. Undergraduate and graduate education credits are available through Ferris or 35 State Continuing Education Clock Hours.
