Work by students in Ferris State University’s Department of Architecture and Facility Management will be featured in “The Art of Architecture,” an exhibit opening Monday, April 8 in the Rankin Art Gallery.
The students’ work is designed to explore the expression of art inherent in the architectural design process. A reception with students and their instructors is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. on opening day.
“The event is aimed for current and future students as well as parents and the community of Big Rapids,” said gallery assistant Diane Cleland. “The gallery event is always a cultural and social event. Any visitor can find out more about what the Architecture Department program offers. This event in particular allows visitors the opportunity to talk with the students of Architecture and participate in a brief commentary by the faculty.”
Admission to the gallery, located in the Rankin Student Center above the bookstore, is free and open to the public. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
