Author, speaker and TRU entrepreneur Julia Garcia will visit Ferris State University’s campus to speak to students about “Sex, Drugs, Alcohol and Everything In Between: The TRU College Life.” The 5-Star event takes place on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. in Williams Auditorium.
Garcia’s presentation takes her audience on a real-life journey of addition and excessive partying that led to sexual assault, the death of her best friend and to rehab before her 21st birthday.
“This event will be good for students to attend because they will hear Julia’s personal experiences related to partying, fun, and hookups, and the real consequences that can result from them,” said Melissa Hanson, president of Entertainment Unlimited, the campus programming board. “This topic is one that hits home for Julia, so she will tell her story in a powerful way that will impact students.”
Garcia’s website describes the TRU Movement as “inspiring individuals from all walks of life to be TRU … The Real U.”
This event is free and open to the public.
