Chicken Dance Flash Mob Contest at Ferris a Fundraiser for United Way

Flocks of dancing chickens will descend on Ferris State University’s North Quad to raise money for United Way.

Registered Student Organizations, residence hall groups and other departments and organizations are encouraged to participate in the Chicken Dance Flash Mob at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13. Groups will dress as chickens and perform their (clean) version of the Chicken Dance.

The event is a contest that will award the winning group $200 toward Ferris State University Catering Services. The winner will be determined by the number of votes cast. Each vote costs $1, which will be donated to United Way.

The event will be videotaped and posted on YouTube to allow online voting.

Participants also will have their photo taken and uploaded to the event’s Facebook page. The photo with the most “likes” will win a $50 gift card to Barnes and Noble.

The winners will be announced on Monday, Nov. 19.
