NOTE: The registration deadline for the first session has been extended to 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, and play will begin on Tuesday, May 29.
Ferris State University students attending classes this summer can stay active and relieve stress from studying by having a ball.
The university’s intramural sports program gives students, faculty and staff of various skill levels the opportunity to participate in team or individual activities.
“Recreation is an integral part of a student’s college career,” said Fernando Labra, intramural and club sports coordinator in University Recreation. “Intramural sports are a way to provide a social outlet for Ferris students on campus.”
Registration is under way for the first session that kicks off Monday, May 21 and runs through Thursday, June 28. Sports include softball, volleyball and soccer; teams are available for men, women and co-ed.
Register now by getting an intramural team registration form at the University Recreation office in the Student Recreation Center on campus or by visiting: http://www.ferris.edu/HTMLS/studentlife/u-rec/students/intramurals/registration.htm.
A $12 entry fee is required for each player. Entry fees can be paid by cash, check, credit card or with a student account. Students participating in summer intramurals must be registered for classes during any Summer 2012 session or must be registered for the Fall 2012 semester.
A second session begins Monday, July 2 for softball and basketball.
