Ferris, Special Olympics Athletes Team up for Heart to Heart, Hand in Hand Game

Ferris State University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams will partner with Special Olympics athletes for the Heart to Heart, Hand in Hand basketball game on Tuesday, March 27.

The seventh annual event, which begins at 6:30 p.m. in Wink Arena on the Ferris campus, is a friendly competition to help raise funds and showcase Area 5 Special Olympics programs.

“The Ferris community should attend the Heart to Heart, Hand in Hand basketball game to support the local Special Olympics athletes of Big Rapids,” said Phillip Higgins, president of the Professional Recreation Association, the organization hosting the event. “This is an opportunity for the community to come out and cheer the players on.”

Raffles and a silent auction that includes such items as a hockey stick signed by Ferris’ Division I hockey team, will take place during the game.

Admission is free for Ferris students with ID and $1 for the public.
