Ferris State University students pursuing a career in the health care industry are encouraged to attend the Health Care Career Fair on Wednesday, March 28 in the Michigan College of Optometry building on campus.
The event, which runs from 4 to 7 p.m., offers students opportunities to meet with potential employers.
“Career Services is hoping to make the Health Care Career Fair an annual event each spring,” said Melissa Hanson, an event-planning professional trainee in Career Services. “We look forward to seeing a couple hundred students in attendance and about 25 employers.”
The fair is one of several events taking place during Career Services’ Career Week, which includes a variety of career fairs and workshops for students to attend March 26-30.
“Career Week has a lot of great events to help students prepare for their career,” Hanson said. “I would encourage all students to attend at least one event during Career Week, because it will help prepare them for their futures.”
Additional career fairs include the Public Service Career Fair, an online event March 26-30, and the Business and Technology Career Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, March 29 at Ferris’ Ewigleben Sports Complex.
“The career fairs are industry-based, not major-based, so somebody in business could attend the Health Care Career Fair if they were interested in the business side of the health field,” Hanson said.
Students are asked to dress professionally, bring their resume and be ready to network with employers, she said.
