Electronic music producer MiMOSA will headline the Turn Up the Good concert Saturday, March 24 at Ferris State University’s Wink Arena.
The show, sponsored by Ferris’ Music Industry Management Association, starts at 6 p.m.
More than 1,500 people attended last year’s Turn Up the Good event, and organizers hope to build on that success.
“Last year, turnout was very successful and we received good feedback,” said Lindsey Thom, MIMA’s concert chair and booking agent. “The buzz of the concert was talked about on campus for months. Most students had never experienced this type of music.”
MiMOSA, who is touring behind his latest release, “Sanctuary” (False Idol Muzik), blends “crunk-step dub-hop for the soul” to “bring ‘good time’ energy that is as fierce as it is friendly,” he wrote on his Facebook page. Following his gig at Ferris, the California native will play at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, Colo. and Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, Tenn., before returning to Michigan in June for shows at the Rothbury Music Festival in Rothbury.
Other acts on Saturday’s bill include Minnesota, Uncle Jesse and Grand Rapids’ Super Dre.
“The atmosphere of Turn Up the Good is amazing with all the lights, colors and people,” Thom said. “I encourage all students to come out and have fun at this year’s concert.”
