Ferris Seniors Earn International Facility Management Scholarships

Ferris State University seniors Allison Clark and Kurt Potgeter were awarded International Facility Management Association Foundation scholarships last semester during the World Workplace 2011 Conference and Expo.

Scholarship recipients must be involved in a Facility Management program. The online-based application process requires two essays that explain why students have chosen the program and the goals that they hope to achieve in the future.

“I was excited to see who else took the initiative to win the scholarship. There were a large number of people who attended the conference. So, to be recognized was a great honor,” said Clark, a native of Battle Creek.

Clark and Potgeter, of Zeeland, were joined by four other Facility Management program students at the annual International Facility Management Association convention last October in Phoenix, Ariz. The convention is held every year for students enrolled in Facility Management programs.

“By attending the conference, everyone involved in Facility Management comes together creating a bond and a chance to network,” Clark said.
