It is pure madness, and it has become a big part of the first weekend on campus for Ferris State University students.
Meijer and Ferris are teaming up for the eighth annual Meijer Madness event at the Big Rapids store on Perry Avenue Saturday, Aug. 25 from 7 to 10 p.m. Meijer Madness is an opportunity for students to conduct some last-minute back-to-school shopping and have a great time with peers while being exposed to businesses in the community. As part of the event, students will receive a 10-percent discount on their purchases of back-to-school supplies in preparation for the start of the new semester.
Meijer Madness includes giveaways and raffles for prizes. A live DJ, a photo booth and more are part of the event. In addition to Meijer serving as the event’s host, several other Big Rapids businesses will participate in the madness.
Shuttle bus transportation is available to and from Meijer at the Rankin Student Center, Bond Hall and the circle by Miller and Travis halls. A bus will pick up students every 15 minutes beginning at 6:45 p.m.
