Ferris State University and the 2011-12 Arts and Lectures Performing Artist Series are set to present Ballet Folklorico Mexico on Saturday, Sept. 17 at Williams Auditorium at 7 p.m.
Ballet Folklorico Mexico, in its 32nd year, is a dance company that is recognized throughout the U.S. and Mexico. The company has toured for more than three decades and educated audiences through authentic regional dances of Mexico.
“This performance is a type of dance that is accessible to all. Though it is titled ballet, it is more of a regional dance that is Latino rooted,” said Catherine Arroe, Arts and Lecture Series chairperson. “This performance will include enjoyable music and is a great introduction performance.”
Ballet Folklorico Mexico is known for its costumes and dances that are designed to entertain and educate audiences about Mexican culture.
Williams Auditorium is an event co-sponsor.
General admission tickets are $5 and student tickets (with student identification card) are $3. Senior citizens also are admitted for a ticket price of $3.
