Ferris and Wayne County Community College Announce Partnership

Ferris State University’s position as Michigan’s statewide university was strengthened by the announcement of a new partnership with the Wayne County Community College District that officials see as a benefit to students and families in Southeast Michigan.

Through this new partnership, Ferris plans to offer Bachelor of Science degree programs in Criminal Justice, Information Security and Intelligence, Digital Media Software Engineering, Allied Health Sciences and Dental Hygiene in the University Center building on the WCCCD Harper Woods campus located at 19305 Vernier Road. The Allied Health Sciences and Dental Hygiene degree programs will be offered online.

Ferris President David Eisler is enthusiastic about the opportunity to collaborate with WCCCD, an education partner in Michigan, to deliver academic programs that he believes meet the needs of district residents.

“Ferris State University is delighted to partner with the Wayne County Community College District at its Harper Woods campus,” Eisler said. “It is my hope that our initial programs in Criminal Justice, Information Security and Intelligence and Software Engineering will provide a foundation on which this relationship will grow and continue to develop.”

Ferris and WCCCD plan to host an open house to introduce this new collaborative relationship on Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 3 to 7:30 p.m. in Harper Woods. Eisler believes that these types of collaborations between institutions are what students and families want as they pursue higher education in a way that meets their needs.

“We are very pleased to help WCCCD students complete their bachelor degree where they live, work and study,” Eisler said.
