Sibs and Kids Weekend Promises to Bring Energy to Campus

pictureSibs and Kids Weekend promises to fire up a lot of energy and enthusiasm on Ferris State University’s campus this weekend.

The weekend for kids begins Friday, March 25 at 3 p.m. and runs through Sunday, March 27 on the Big Rapids campus.

Paul Willard, a Ferris hall director, said, “Sibs and Kids Weekend is a great way to get the residence hall students more active in the campus community. It also allows for Ferris to approach future and aspiring students while having a fun time.”

Friday evening, the event kicks off with a “one-man circus show” as comic magician Michael DuBois will perform numerous acts, including juggling, magic, comedy and comic art. He has performed at more than 300 college and universities and on NBC’s “Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”

The fun continues throughout the weekend with free ice skating, inflatable obstacle courses and evening programs in the residence halls.

Sibs and Kids Weekend is open to all younger siblings and family members above the age of 6 years old with a maximum of two siblings per student. The cost is $25 per sibling which includes access to all Sibs and Kids Weekend events, meals at on-campus dining centers, a T-shirt and a Ferris wristband.

For a sibling to participate in swimming, at the Recreation Center, a yearly waiver must be signed. The form can be found at http://www.ferris.edu/HTMLS/studentlife/u-rec/polfee/membership.htm. The costs are $3 per minor and $5 for an adult pass for non-students.

The event is sponsored by the Residence Hall Association, Dining Services, National Residence Hall Honorary and Entertainment Unlimited.
