Award-Winning Storyteller La'Ron Williams Coming to Ferris

FLa'Ron Williamserris State University’s 2011-12 Arts and Lectures Performing Artist Series is set to feature storyteller La’Ron Williams on Wednesday, Dec. 7 in the Rankin Student Center Dome Room at 7 p.m.

Williams has garnered national acclaim for his award-winning storytelling. He has toured the United States extensively to present programs and workshops. His music-filled storytelling performances are a blend of original and traditional tales. Williams’ brand of storytelling is designed to improve literacy, encourage community spirit, foster a greater sense of cooperation, promote peaceful methods of conflict resolution, raise self-esteem and add depth to the historical knowledge of the American ideal of democratic inclusion.

Tickets can be purchased at the Williams Auditorium Ticket Office. Regular ticket prices are $3 for any student (with ID) or senior citizen. General admission tickets are $5 apiece. The Arts and Lectures Committee has announced that the first 150 patrons will receive free admission to this event. The tickets will be available beginning at 6 p.m. in the Dome Room.
