Ferris Offers Summer Retreat for Young Writers

BIG RAPIDS – Ferris State University is currently accepting applications from elementary, middle school and high school students for this summer’s writing retreats. Students in third- through 12th-grade are allowed to apply.

Session A runs June 15 through 19 and Session B runs June 22 through 26. Both Sessions are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $75 per student per session. However, a limited number of need-based scholarships are available.

Session A will focus on “Wizards, Witches, Vampires and Fairies” for elementary students, “Seeing through the Eyes of a Writer” for middle school students and “Vampires and Villains” for high school students.

Session B’s topics will include “A Timeline for Our Lives” for elementary students, “From Character Building to Character Acting” for middle school students and “Of Myths, Goddesses and Heroes” for high school students.
