BIG RAPIDS – What does Russia, Italy, Ireland and Kenya all have in common? Those countries, and 17 others, will be represented at the 21st annual International Festival of Cultures from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 19, in the Rankin Student Center Dome Room.
The festival features students and professors native to those countries who will highlight cultures, customs and food, among other items, from their respective nations.
“The festival brings diversity to Ferris and shows what international students bring to the campus,” said Shana Beisiegel, Ferris International Center administrative assistant.
The exotic and unique food items are generally a popular draw, Beisiegel added, saying, students with a Bulldog I.D. will receive three free tickets; tickets are 50 cents each for staff, faculty, community members and additional student tickets.
Since different students organize the event each year, there is always something new happening such as countries represented and entertainment, according to Beisiegel.
