University Standard Software

When purchasing a computer, it is important to consider the compatibility and ease of use with other computers. Therefore, students should be aware of the software applications considered standard at Ferris. All residence hall computer labs are equipped with the university's standard applications. These include the following:

  • Microsoft Windows 7

  • Microsoft Office 2010 Professional (Access, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher)

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 8, Firefox, and Chrome

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader 9

  • Symantec Endpoint Protection
