What is the iConnect Event?

Each year, during move-in week in the fall, Student Technology Services (STS) hosts an event for on-campus students at the IRC building. Also, during the first week of classes, STS will help students who bring their computer to the STS offices in University Center (Student Center).  During this event, STS technicians help students configure their computers to use the Ferris network, absolutely free of charge. (Note, any equipment or software will incur a fee.)

Can I buy network equipment and software at the iConnect event?

Yes, wireless access points, switches, and ethernet cables will be available. There will also be a selection of Microsoft and Adobe software products. All purchases will be charged to your student account; we cannot take cash or debit/credit cards.

 

I can't make it to the iConnect event, can I bring in my machine?

If you miss the event, you can bring your computer to the Student Technology Services offices located in the University Center (Student Center). Just bring in your computer from August 23-25th. 

 

My "xyz" is not working. Can I bring my computer to the iConnect event to have it repaired/upgraded?

Unfortunately STS will not be taking in any computers for repair at the iConnect event. If your problem is networking related, a technician may be able to assist you.
