Support Via Chat

Chatting with a TAC specialist is another channel for you to access help via our website, as well as by phone and email. It can be used by anyone in the Ferris community - parents, students, visitors, and staff. Response has been positive to this service, which started in the Summer of 2008.


When you click on the Chat with a Specialist icon, you will be asked for some information to identify yourself. When a TAC Specialist is available, they can accept your request, and the TAC Specialist will work with you to get you the answers you need. Our chat tool allows us to transfer the chat session to another TAC Specialist, if another employee has greater knowledge about the questions being asked, and we can also send you links to pages with the information you are looking for. We also keep the logs of the conversations, and put them in our work order system for future reference.

Please note that we currently do not reset passwords if the request comes in via chat. These requests need to called in so we can validate your identity for security purposes.


Chat service is available most hours that the TAC is open.
