We apologize for the images on this page. Due to the Respondus LockDown Browser not
allowing other applications to run, quality screen shots could not be obtained. The
images you see are photos taken with a Smartphone.
Please follow the below listed instructions for beginning an exam using the Respondus
LockDown Browser when your Instructor requires a password to be used in order to gain
access to the exam.
- Launch the Respondus LockDown Browser application.
- At the Blackboard Learn login page, login using your Ferris ID and password. These
are the same credentials that you use when logging into MyFSU.
- Click on the course link to enter the course.
- Navigate to the link that your Instructor has created for starting the exam from within
the Respondus LockDown Browser, and click on it.
- You should see the Begin page in a new, smaller sized window. Please review the instructions
on this page before taking the quiz/exam, then click on one of the Begin buttons located
in the top right or bottom right corners of this window. Please see the below screen
shot for an example of this window.

- You will then be presented with the Enter Password window, as seen in the below screen
shot. Future references to this window will be made with "Enter Password window".

- In the password field of the Enter Password window, type the password that your Instructor
has provided in the Password field, and then click one of the Submit buttons located
in either the top right or bottom right corners of the window. When typing your password,
dots or asterisks will appear in place of the characters that you enter.

- After clicking the Submit button, you may or may not see a small window appear and
then disapper. It really has not disappered, but rather it is hiding behind the Enter
Password window. To view this smaller window, we will call this window the "Password
Pop-up window", place your mouse on the top edge or corner edge of the Enter Password
window until the mouse pointer turns into a double pointing arrow. Click and drag
to make the Enter Password window smaller until you can see the Password Pop-up window.
Below is an image of what the Password Pop-up window looks like, with the Enter Password
window being down sized.

- In the Password Pop-up window, select the "Yes, the password is:" option, and type
the password in the field to the right, and click the Continue button. After clicking
Continue, make sure there is not another Password Pop-up window on the screen. If
there is, repeat this step again and click Continue. Do this for as many Password
Pop-up windows that you see. This can occur if you click on the Submit button more
than one time in the Enter Password window.

- The Password Pop-up window closes. Now you will need to do the same thing outlined
in Step 8 above, only this time make the Enter Password window larger. Click the Submit
button to begin the exam.
