Effective September 2012, to access your BB Mobile application you will need to purchase a subscription to utilize a connection to FerrisConnect ($1.99 per year or $5.99 for a lifetime subscription).
Faculty:
Ferris will not reimburse for mobile apps already purchased, so plan ahead! If you
think this is an app you need, please contact the Dean of your department who will
then contact Kim Wilber in the Academic Affairs office.
After you update or install the Blackboard Mobile Learn app, it will prompt you to find your particular institution. Type in Ferris State and then select Ferris State University from the list.
Next, it will prompt you to log in with your MyFSU user name and password.
After you log in, the app will know that Ferris does not have the institutional license
and that you, as an individual, have not already purchased the app.
Therefore, it will prompt you to purchase the 1-year subscription for $1.99 or the
unlimited subscription for $5.99.
If you have already purchased the app using your mobile cell phone, you can also
put the app on your tablet without paying by pressing the “Restore Purchase” option
on the bottom of your device’s screen.
Once you purchase the subscription, Blackboard Mobile Learn will work on both WiFi
and your Data Plan!
For more information about Blackboard Mobile Learn, please see their website: https://www.blackboard.com/mobile.
The Blackboard Mobile Learn App can be used to access any of your courses that are
currently in the FerrisConnect system. The application does limit the type of interaction
that both a student and instructor can have with certain course tools, so please be
aware that it is not intended to be an exact replacement of a web browser on a PC
or Mac.
