Misperception 12: I've failed if I make the wrong choice, or if I make a change in my major or career aspirations.

Career Wisdom: You only fail when you neglect to adapt to new information.  FACT: If you decide a major or career choice is not right for you, adapt and change it! Those students who enter college with their major undeclared are more certain of their career direction by the end of their sophomore year than those who declared a major upon entering. The only way you fail is not to try, or to persist in something because you don't give yourself permission to change your mind. You have grown and developed at every stage of your life, and will continue to do so throughout your life cycle. Remember what may have fit at an earlier stage may not be the right choice for you today.
