Heavy Equipment Program Scholarships
Below are scholarships available to students enrolled in Heavy Equipment Programs
at Ferris State University.

Charles Jehnzen Heavy Equipment Endowed Scholarship
(1) $1,000 scholarship
Divided equally between fall and spring semesters
- Full-time sophomore student enrolled in the Heavy Equipment Technology program
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Financial need may be considered*
- Additional Requirements: Preference given to individuals who have demonstrated a high
level of self motivation, entrepreneurial spirit and interest in owning a heavy equipment
related business
- Must submit completed application from above
Fleet Management Annual Scholarship
(1) $1,000 scholarship
Divided equally between fall and spring semesters
- Full-time junior or senior student majoring in the Heavy Equipment Service Engineering
- Technology program
- Minimum GPA of 2.0
- Financial need is considered*
- Additional Requirements: Preference given to individuals who demonstrate interest
and desire for a career in Fleet Management.
- Must submit completed application from above
Ken Schmitigal Annual Scholarship
(1) $1,000 scholarship
Divided equally between fall and spring semesters
- Full-time undergraduate student enrolled in the Heavy Equipment Service Engineering
Technology program
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Financial need is considered*
- Additional Requirements: Preference given to individuals who demonstrate interest
and desire for a career in the heavy equipment industry.
- Must submit completed application from above
James D. and Katy Moore Heavy Equipment Annual Scholarship
(1) $1,250 scholarship
Divided equally between fall and spring semesters
- Full-time sophomore, junior and/or senior majoring in Heavy Equipment Technology
and/or Heavy Equipment Service Engineering Technology.
- Preference shall be given to eligible students who demonstrate financial need determined
by the Office of Scholarships and Financial-aid.
- Minimum 2.5 GPA at the time of application.
- Must submit completed application from above

Outside scholarships are not managed by Ferris State University. However, it is our
intent to make students aware of additional funding opportunities. If you have questions
