Continuing Professional Education
In the rapidly changing world of pharmacy, continuing education for pharmacists is essential both for professional growth and for professional licensure .
Ferris State University is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer and does
not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, handicap or other prohibited matters in
employment, educational programs or in admission.
Any person with a disability who needs accommodations to attend a live program should
contact the College of Pharmacy 231/591-2252 at least 72 hours in advance.
For more information on pharmacy licensure requirements for the State of Michigan, please visit the Michigan Board of Pharmacy website at the following link: http://michigan.gov/statelicensesearch/0,1607,7-180-24786_24822-243241--,00.html
The Michigan Public Health Code and board administrative rules require every pharmacist
who has held their license for a full two-year period, to complete, during the 2-year
period prior to the renewal of the license, at least 30 hours of board-approved continuing
education, with at least 1 (one) hour in pain management and not less than 10 (ten)
hours in live programs or courses. Pursuant to this requirement, the Board of Pharmacy
has promulgated rules to establish specific criteria for the Board’s approval of continuing
education courses and programs.
