Vital Dye Staining
This is another dry eye test that is routinely performed
for the diagnosis of corneal or conjunctival
disorders. Rose bengal or Lissamine green vital dye
is used since it is easily seen in white
illumination. Eyes that are dry show areas of corneal
or conjunctival epithelial cell loss which cases the dye to
accumulate.
