Natalie Montigny is a Ferris State University graduate, having completed a bachelor of science in biology. She minored in French. She was a member of the Pre-Optometry Club during her undergraduate studies. Currently, she is a student at the Michigan College of Optometry with an anticipated graduation of 2019. At a young age, an optometrist correctly diagnosed the cause of her school problems as nearsightedness when everyone else had brushed her off as a trouble maker. This changed her life and peaked her interest in the many complexities of the visual system. After completing optometry school, she plans to focus on pediatrics and vision therapy with the goal of helping change lives the way her doctor changed hers. She enjoys volunteer work and has volunteered in her community as well as at the University Eye Center. In her free time, she likes to bike, watch drum corps, and spend time with her family.
