ABOUT THE CONCERT
We are proud to announce our 11th Annual Veterans Day Concert performed by Ferris State University's FSU West Central Concert Band! With this concert, we celebrate the vital role that our Veterans and Active Military Personnel have provided and continue to provide for our nation.
This year's concert will also feature a special performance of The Objects in the Mirror are Closer than They Appear, a one-act play written by local playwright Jim Samuels, and performed by Al Aikin.
This year's concert will feature the participation of the Croton American Legion Post 381 Honor Guard, the Ferris State University Veterans Association, the Ferris State University Military Support Group, guest speakers FSU Head Hockey Coach Bob Daniels and veteran Michelle Shell, guest conductors Dacho Dachoff & Ferris President David Eisler, narrator Phillip Middleton, vocalist John King, bagpiper Dave O'Neil, and the dramatic flair of announcer Donna Smith.
The concert will also include the performance of a special musical selection featuring music from all 5 branches of service, and we will invite our Veterans, Active Military Personnel and their Family Members to stand and be recognized upon hearing their anthem!
Once again this year, the FSU Military Support Group will be collecting donated goods and money for our troops overseas. For those able to do help, they are asking for toiletries like baby wipes, individually wrapped snack foods. Cash donations may also be made out to the "FSU Military Support Group."
