Sociology is the study of society and social behavior. Individuals studying sociology learn by examining the groups, cultures, organizations, and social institutions people form. They also study the activities in which people participate, including social, religious, political, economic, and business organizations. The field of sociology has been listed by the Wall Street Journal as one of the top ten career areas. Sociology has very marketable job skills due to its methods and theory that allow its practitioners to offer insight into the complex realities of the rapidly changing world. It is the career that will be at the cutting edge of the many directions that society will take in the 21st Century. Our degree is an excellent preparation for the following careers:

Students graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Ferris State University will:
