Dr. Meral Topcu received her Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from Wayne State University in 2000. She taught various psychology topics in Wayne State University. She worked as a research associate in ACTIVE project that focuses on teaching older adults strategies to prevent cognitive decline. Dr. Topcu has published research on topics including speech perception, smoking and cognition, attitudes on research participation in African American population and cognitive decline in older adults. She is currently working on speech perception and visual attention area.
