Dr. McKenna received her B. S. and M. A. in Sociology and Social Justice from Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant and her Ph D. in Justice Studies and Social Inquiry from Arizona State University, Tempe. Previously she was a Visiting Asst. Professor in the Sociology Department at Montana State University and an Associate Faculty at Arizona State University. Her research and publications include topics such as torture and international relations with Canada, domestic violence, justice theory, family, marriage, and militarism. Her recent book is titled, Militarism: The Power Arrangements between Soldiers, Wives, and the Military-Industrial-Service-Complex which was published in May, 2009.
