ARTS 101: Basic Art *C

Fundamental art training, two dimensional art, introduction to various techniques and media. Pencil, pastel, ink, and watercolor will be explored while interpreting a variety of subject matter including still-life, landscape, and the figure. Creative problem solving will be stressed. This course meets general education requirements: Cultural Enrichment.

 

ARTS 102:  Intermediate Art*C

Max credits:

Two dimensional art, drawing with various color media; includes color theory, mixing, and composition. Painting experiences range from representational to the abstract. This course meets General Education requirements: Cultural Enrichment.

 

ARTS 120: Three-Dimensional Design*C

Max credits:

Introduction to three-dimensional design problems. This class will utilize traditional crafts materials: clay, wood, paper, wire, and metal to explore spatial design problems. This course meets General Education requirements: Cultural Enrichment.  Fall Semester only.

 

ARTS 130:  Experiments in Painting *C

Max credits:

A studio course exploring the creative aspects of painting. Acquaints students with the media of oil and acrylic and encourages individualistic style in painting. This course meets general education requirements: Cultural Enrichment. Spring Semester only.

 

ARTS 131:  Art for the Elementary Teacher *C

An introduction to visual art designed to provide the elementary classroom teacher with introductory art terminology, fundamental art knowledge and the basic hands-on art skills necessary to allow the incorporation of art into general classroom activities.  Fall Semester only.

Requires:  Elementary Education students only.
