Important Information for Pre-Nursing Students

Changes in the Accelerated 2ndDegree Program

What are the changes?

Effective as of the 2016 admission cycle the accelerated nursing program will be suspended. The School of Nursing will be working on curriculum changes to all BSN programs. No definite timeline has been set for re-opening this program.

  1. Any student with another baccalaureate degree who qualifies for the nursing program is eligible for the traditional BSN program. The professional sequence of classes for the traditional BSN program is six consecutive semesters, and students can complete in two years.
  2. We will admit a traditional track of students summer of 2016 with the intention of reducing the wait for admission. Further, in the 2016 admission cycle we will offer 25% of our seats as competitive admission. Details on the competitive admission will be on our website soon.

Who is affected by these changes?

All students who are admitted as pre-nursing students and expect to apply for the accelerated 2nd degree nursing program after the 2015 application cycle.
