Old Federal Building

Ferris’ Kendall College of Art and Design
The Old Federal Building - Grand Rapids, Michigan

In the Fall of 2010, the Federal Building stood in an incredible state of disrepair and was a drain on the city’s budget, vitality and spirit. Today, fully renovated and beautifully restored, the building exemplifies what’s possible through shared efforts, vision and commitment. This is truly a strategic capital initiative for the community. The ambitious aim of this project has been to simultaneously restore a marvelous jewel of construction, enhance the regional system of higher education and help continue the Grand Rapids’ rise as a great American community. The benefits of these outcomes will reach well beyond Ferris/Kendall. Ultimately the fully restored Federal Building further strengthens the city’s position as a forward-thinking arts and innovation engine in Michigan and the Midwest.
