Instructions are listed below for accessing Emeriti Benefits enacted by the Board of Trustees. These benefits are available to all FSU Emeriti granted such status by the Board. Please contact the FSU Emeriti Board and/or the FSU Alumni Association if you have any questions, require assistance or experience any difficulty in obtaining access to Emeriti benefits.

Identification Card

Those granted Emeritus status by the Board of Trustees will continue to receive one photo identification card clearly marked "Emeritus". The identification card will allow access to campus services and privileges relating to activities and functions offered by Ferris State University at the same level and rates as current faculty and staff.

Please take your Faculty/Staff ID card to the Timme Center to have it replaced with an Emeritus ID card when you are granted Emeritus status.

Tuition Waiver

Tuition waiver will be offered to those granted Emeritus status by the Ferris State University Board of Trustees. The tuition waiver is not transferable to dependents or spouse. Tuition waiver forms may be accessed online by clicking here or you may pick up a form at the Human Resources office in Prakken 150.

Katke and Racquet and Fitness Center/Student Recreation Center

Privileges will remain in effect for Emeritus and their spouses who have been granted Emeritus status by the Ferris State University Board of Trustees. Because of previous agreements regarding rates at Katke Golf Course, there will be three levels of rates:

  • Fiscal year June 1988 and year's prior, rates offered at the time of Emeritus status being granted by Ferris State University Board of Trustees will remain in effect.
  • Fiscal year June 1989 through year 2000, rates offered at the time of Emeritus status being granted by Ferris State University Board of Trustees will remain in effect.
  • June 2001 and future years, those granted Emeritus status by the Ferris State University Board of Trustees will receive faculty/staff rates.

Note: Emeriti Association Members are the only group eligible for monthly memberships at the Student Recreation Center.

Please show your Emeriti ID card to receive the Emeriti rate at these facilities. You may also request assistance in advance by contacting the FSU Alumni Office at (231) 591-2345.

Computer/Internet Services

Individual access to Ferris State University Campus Internet service will continue to be offered to those granted Emeritus status by the Ferris State University Board of Trustees under the same terms and conditions as it is offered to faculty and staff by the Department of Telecommunications. Emeriti can continue to receive Merit-Michnet access to the internet through Ferris, but are responsible for the annual fee associated with that service. Emeriti can seek this service by contacting the Alumni Office at (231) 591-2345.

Note: Emeriti are entitled to keep their Lotus Notes email account.

Library Resources and Services

Library resources and services will be available to those granted Emeritus status by the Ferris State University Board of Trustees. All fees assessed will be at the same rate as faculty and staff. Please show your Emeriti ID card to receive this benefit.

Parking Permits

Retirees granted Emeritus status by the Ferris State University Board of Trustees will continue to receive Ferris State University parking permits free of charge. Please contact the FSU Alumni Relations Office at least one week in advance at (231) 591-2345 to receive your parking permit.

Courtesies and privileges for the Ferris State University Emeriti Association (FSUEA) include:

  • The Ferris State University Emeriti Association members will continue to be listed in one section of the Ferris State University phone directory.
  • The Ferris State University Emeriti Association is formally linked to Ferris State University through the Department of Alumni Relations in the Division of University Advancement and Marketing.
  • Ferris State University will continue to provide adequate office space to the Ferris State University Emeriti Association and its members based on space availability as determined by the University.
  • Advancement Services in the Division of University Advancement and Marketing will continue to provide data services to the Ferris State University Emeriti Association. The Ferris State University Emeriti Association will provide a listing of Ferris State University Emeriti Association members for publication in the Ferris State University Telephone Directory and in the Ferris State University Emeriti Association Directory.
