GENERAL WNF PROVISIONS:
- Students must maintain continuous full time enrollment which is defined as a minimum
of 12 credit hours for fall and 12 credit hours for spring. (Summer attendance is
not required)
- WNF Scholarships are not available for summer semester.
- Awards will be based on the highest submitted ACT Composite score (which includes
English, math, reading and science) or the SAT combined score (reading and math, NOT
writing). Scores from different ACT tests will not be combined to create a composite
score.
- The University will use the high school grade point average provided by the student's
high school. If the student's high school does not use a weighted GPA for AP classes,
neither will the University.
- WNF Scholarships may be renewed up to three times, with a maximum payout of 4 years
or 8 total semesters.
- Renewals are based on the student's cumulative Ferris State University grade point
average.
- WNF recipients who are accepted into a graduate or doctoral program may continue to
receive the WNF scholarship until they have reached the maximum of 4 years, provided
they continue to meet the renewal criteria. The dollar value of the Founder's Scholarship
will continue to be calculated at the Michigan resident, undergraduate tuition rate,
up to a maximum of 15 credit hours per semester.
- Woodbridge N. Ferris Scholarship awards are subject to the availability of funds.
- If a student's final high school GPA or subsequent test scores are higher than those
initially evaluated, we will "bump" the student up to the highest WNF Scholarship
they qualify for, provided the improved results are submitted before classes begin.
- If a student repeats a placement test with lower scores or his or her final GPA is
lower than initially submitted, we will honor the original scholarship offer.
- WNF Scholarships are limited to one per eligible student.
- Kendall College of Art & Design students who are awarded the Founder's Scholarship
will be awarded up to 15 credit hours per semester at the Michigan undergraduate student
- main campus tuition rate.
- Students are offered WNF Scholarships based on the WNF criteria for the academic year
in which they begin as a new student. The renewal criteria stated at that time will
remain in effect throughout that student's eligibility period (four years).
