Housing Arrangements

It is the policy of the Board of Trustees of Ferris State University to require all single students, living away from home, to reside in University residence halls. The basis for this policy is that learning is not confined to the classroom. Educational experiences provided by living in the residence halls are important to the personal growth of students.

Students must live on campus unless they meet the following criteria: Have reached the age of 20 prior to the 1st day of classes in the semester for which he/she intends to live off campus, or Resides in the permanent home of a parent within 50 road miles of the University and wish to commute.

If you will be living on campus, it is best to complete the Housing and Dining Contract and submit your Housing and Dining Contract Guarantee prior to attending Orientation to avoid delays in registering for classes.

Students complete the Housing and Dining contract online utilizing the MyHousing module found on the University Life tab of MyFSU. In the first step, students read and sign the Housing and Dining Contract which includes submitting the $200 contract guarantee. Students will then be notified of how to request roommates and when to return to MyHousing to select their room.
