Pat on the Back Awards April 2013

Congratulations to -

I would like to nominate Marsha Longbrake for the Pat-on-the-Back award. Marsha works long and diligently on transfer credits. She is the go-to-person for the colleges to get this important part of admissions complete for our incoming students. Marsha is vital in processing the complicated transfers for international students. Thanks for all you do Marsha!

I want to nominate Brian Anderson and Bruce Borstler for a pat on the back for really standing up and taking on initiative during the last weather event we had, we experienced multiple employee call ins and Brian and Bruce did an exceptional job with making sure the critical areas on campus were up and running for the morning and I just want to say great Job guys!!

During the Friday, March 1, 2013 power outage, FLITE along with the rest of the campus had to close early. While considering it might take longer and need more staff to handle a thorough building closing due to the special circumstance, FLITE employees Ann Breitenwischer and Dorothy Hart insisted to stay with the two scheduled closing staff and helped make sure all patrons safely left FLITE and the entire building was properly closed. They could have left for home around 3 PM for the weekend; instead, they were willing to stay and help until around 4:30 PM as the detailed building closing was completed. Many sincere thanks to Ann and Dorothy for their wonderful willingness, great team work spirit, team effort and strong sense of responsibility as Ferris employees and FLITE colleagues!

I would like to nominate Ashley Barrigar from the TAC's Technical Education & Outreach team for her contribution to the continuing improvement of the new ITS service management tool. She has been actively involved with training all ITS staff on the use of the system, but her contribution doesn't stop there. Ashley continues to gather feedback from customers and technical staff, then advocates for improvements on their behalf. Her proactive, hands-on approach sets a positive example for others to follow. Ashley is a true leader!

I'd like to nominate Jackie Hughes, Coordinator for Instructional Technologies, for her thoughtfulness and ability to be a team player. She has been proactive at keeping the TAC informed of issues and new features related to Blackboard and other instructional technologies. Jackie understands the importance of communicating regularly with the TAC. It ensures faculty and students calling the TAC for technical assistance get the support they need.

This month's POTB t-shirt winners are:  Marsha Longbrake, Brian Anderson, Bruce Borstler, Ann Breitenwischer, Dorothy Hart, Ashley Barrigar and Jackie Hughes.
