Creating Web Pages

Though some flexibility is necessary, consistency in graphic content conveys the correct image of Ferris State University. To keep Web pages uniform, the University encourages all users to author Web pages through its Web Content Management system (CMS). Contact the Web Content Manager at extension 2331 to request training and access to the CMS.

Graphic Standards

• Uniformity across the website can be ensured through the use of the University's Content Management System.
• The correct University wordmarks, symbols and colors should also be used. These are also available from the Web Content Manager.
• The Web Content Manager is available to assist in creating pages and to review Web pages.

Policy

Graphic standards may not apply to all Web pages created or maintained by Ferris State students, faculty or staff. Some Web pages are meant for academic or informational purposes not associated with the image FSU presents to the public. Examples include the Torch (student paper), budget reports (on-line spreadsheets, etc.) and course materials of faculty.

Web design standards may not apply to Ferris Web publications devoted to special events or services that contain graphic components closely tied to a specific design theme.
