Summary: Establish an IT Advisory Council to provide systematic, regular input on IT planning and assessment. This group would be responsible for reviewing progress on initiatives, periodic changes or adjustments to the University Plan for Information Technology, and serving as a communication channel on a wide array of user applications, services, and policies. The proposed membership should include eight to ten key stakeholders from senior levels (director, dean, and AVP), faculty, staff, and students. Another function of the new Advisory Council would be to provide guidance on the support items and services that should be discontinued.
Discussions are underway with the Associate Provost of Academic Affairs on the charge, membership, authority, and timing of the Council.
