Congratulations on your employment with Ferris State University. Starting employment is an exciting new venture and Ferris wants to help you prepare for this new beginning.
Information you will need to bring on your first day:
All new employees attend the FSU New Employee Orientation, NEO within the first 4-6 weeks of employment. We hope you find this opportunity a valuable experience and we thank you for your participation. For more information on NEO, view the NEO Agenda.
When you arrive on campus and complete your new hire paperwork in human Resources you will receive a temporary parking permit. As part of your new hire paperwork you will provide vehicle registration information and a permanent parking permit will be sent to you from the Ferris State University Public Safety office.
All employees of Ferris should obtain and FSU ID card. This ID will give you access to certain discounts and services as well as provide access to certain campus facilities. In some cases you will need an FSU ID card to access the facility where you will be working.
Access to needed FSU systems will be determined by your department/supervisor during your first few days of employment.
Are you eligible for benefits? Not all positions at Ferris State University are eligible for benefits. During New Employee Orientation, if you are eligible you will be given information and attend a benefits orientation. To review benefits by employee classification you can view this information on the benefits web page.
Keys are issued to employees within the first 2 weeks of employment. Your department will be responsible to request keys for you through a work order to Physical Plant.
