Diversity at Ferris

Ferris State University was founded in 1884 on the ideals of a diverse campus that promotes education for all people. Said our founder Woodbridge N. Ferris, “My plea in Michigan – and it will be my plea to the last breath I draw, and the last word I speak – education for all children, all men, and all women of Michigan, all people in all our states all the time.” More than a century later, our commitment to a vision of access to quality education remains as strong as ever.

Among our missions is to continue to attract a diverse pool of quality students as well as dedicated faculty and staff who are ready and willing to assist with the important decisions that helps shape the lives of our students as they prepare for life after graduation. In addition to the development of a campus where diversity reflects society as a whole, Ferris seeks to build a community where students, faculty and staff work together in pursuit of educational excellence.
