Charter Schools Office Held a NWEA Focusing on Growth Workshop 

On Wednesday, October 5, 2016, the Ferris State University Charter Schools Office held a Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) professional development workshop at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids.  The workshop had 20 attendees, and it was presented by Bill Demaree, a consultant for NWEA.  The workshop focused on using Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP)® data for goal setting to improve student learning and growth, and how to use the data to impact goals for school and district improvement plans.

Hope of Detroit Academy Middle School and High School Ribbon Cutting Ceremony  

Hope of Detroit Academy officially cuts the ribbon on their new middle school/high school campus.  The new campus is located at 4443 Junction Street, the new campus houses grades 5-10.  The Academy intends to add additional grades to the high school until it becomes a 5-12 building.  Students, staff, parents, and alumni were present to witness the dedication.
