Sec. 3-101 Purpose of Academic Programming and Educational Services.
The University, as a public institution, is dedicated to providing a broad range of career-oriented and professional programs and public services to the people of Michigan and beyond. Central to each educational program are two concepts: quality education within the student's chosen discipline, and a core of liberal studies (general education) designed to prepare the student for the responsibilities of life within an ever-changing global society. The University recognizes and welcomes its responsibilities as a career-oriented educational institution, and actively pursues sharing its technical and clinical expertise with people and organizations through programs of public service.
