Admissions criteria - In order to be admitted to the Honors Program as a new student in Fall 2013, a student must have:

  • High school cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Composite score of 24 or higher on ACT, or 1120 or higher on SAT
  • Score of 3 or higher on a writing sample to be administered at Ferris State University on the last Saturday in February at the Honors Invitational Competition.

 

Although the initial deadline (February 1) has passed, we are still accepting applications.  Once an application is received, directions will be mailed on how to complete the essay portion of the Honors application.

Upon receipt of your Honors application, we will invite you to attend the Honors Program Invitational which is being held on Saturday, February 23, 2013.  Students applying to Honors are required to attend and compose an essay which is part of the Honors application process.

If you have not completed an Undergraduate Student application to Ferris State University, you will need to do that in order for your Honors application to remain valid. The application can be found at www.ferris.edu/admissions.

International students - In order to be admitted to the Honors Program International students must have:

  • TOEFL score of 525 or better (if English is not the first language).
