As a freshman at Ferris in 2002 I was a very shy and reserved 17-year-old and I did not know what I wanted to do with the rest of my life, or if I was in the right place to find out. I was introduced to many new people through the Honors Program, and some of them will remain life-long friends. The Honors Program provided me with an array of cultural, social, and academic opportunities I may not have otherwise experienced. Now that I've graduated, I still do not know precisely what I'm going to do with my life, but I am far more confident, knowledgeable and prepared than I was four years ago.
I am putting my education to good use as the Marketing Coordinator for the Service 1 Federal Credit Union in Muskegon, Michigan. I am responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Service 1 marketing plan, which includes advertising, promotions, business development, communications, research and public relations.
I know the impact that the Honors Program at Ferris had on me. It came about through great professors, mentors and students, and I believe it will stay with me throughout my future.
