Lilly North Conference Travel Block Grant
We here in the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning (FCTL) are always delighted (proud, would be more accurate!) by the number of FSU faculty who attend the Annual Lilly Conference on College and University Teaching - Traverse City ("Lilly North"), many of whom are presenting posters, workshops, keynote addresses, and concurrent sessions. As we look ahead to the 2012 conference, we wanted to let you know that FCTL will provide 30 travel grants to be awarded based on the following priority structure:
  1. Travel grants will be awarded first to faculty who have not attended since 2008 or would be attending for the first time AND who will be giving a presentation either alone or with others at the 2012 conference. Presentations include posters, pre-conference workshops, keynote addresses, and concurrent sessions.

  2. Remaining block grants will then be awarded to faculty who have not attended since 2008 or would be attending for the first time AND will not be giving a presentation at the 2012 conference. Again, presentations include posters, pre-conference workshops, keynote addresses, and concurrent sessions.

  3. Remaining block grants will then be awarded to faculty who have attended at least once since 2008 AND will be giving a presentation at the 2012 conference.

  4. Finally, remaining block grants will be awarded to faculty who have attended at least once since 2008 AND will not be giving a presentation at the 2012 conference.

If you are a faculty member who has attended the conference at least once since 2008 and you wish to attend the 2012 conference, you may wish to seek funding through the Timme Travel Grant Program. If, in the end, you receive a travel grant to attend the Lilly Conference AND your application to the Timme Travel Grant Program is approved for funding, you may use the latter travel award for a different conference (pending approval by your School Director, Department Head or Chair and the FCTL Director).

 Mileage: Round trip from Big Rapids to Traverse City  $99.90
  90 miles x 2 x $ .555 mile   
 
If your primary work location is, for example, Lansing or Grand Rapids, mileage will be adjusted accordingly.   
 
 Lodging: Fairfield Inn (3 nights @ $88.80 inc. tax)  3 nights  $266.40

If you chose not to stay at the Fairfield Inn, your hotel expenses will be reimbursed up to $88.80 per night.
